Great show!
Friday night, we went to see an incredible musical act from Canada called "Leahy" It was awesome!!! 4 brothers, 4 sisters, they played all sorts of instruments, sang, danced (sometimes all at the same time!) Great Celtic style music-a wonderful performance! Check out there site at
www.leahymusic.com If they are performing anywhere in your area, you would be doing yourself a great service by SEEING THEIR SHOW!!!
What's up
Just wanted to get y'all caught up with me...
I was hard charging, enjoying the LPO (Leading Petty Officer) for the band here when about a week ago
WHAM! the LT and Senior Chief took me aside and said they needed me to take over Operations. The chief who was going to take over Ops suddenly received transfer orders, and I'm learning the job as fast as I can!

Happy New Year!
I hope you all enjoyed a safe and festive New Year celebration. We met lots of family for lunch at Skates in the Berkeley Marina. Then, to complete our San Francisco transportation experience, I took the kids on a short hop on the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) train from Oakland to Lafayette. A big baked salmon dinner, with black-eyed peas for luck. Then, the four of us watched the New Year come in. It was sad seeing Dick Clarke, doing his best but struggling from the effects of the stroke he had.
This morning, we're fininshing packing, going to church then another short visit at grandma's house, then off the airport and back to the Pacific Northwest.
Update: Our flight was delayed about 30 minutes-time which we spent trying to get a hold of our hosts, as we'd left behind (at the house) a carry-bag with books, glasses, and medicines! Unfortunately, we were unable to remedy the situation before the flight.
The return flight was pleasant, the crew were charming, and the kids did well. We finally arrived home around 10 pm. I got to sleep in this morning, but the house will be a whirlwind of activity today, as we clean, unpack, and get ready for the New Year!
